Micro-Albumin
Micro-Albumin is a competitive ELISA test system for the quantitative determination of human albumin in urine.
The rate of albumin excretion is an important control and prevention parameter for the evaluation of kidney function in patients with diabetes. The Micro-Albumin ELISA test from ORGENTEC can be used to precisely determine even trace concentrations of albumin directly in urine.
Normally, the concentrations of albumin in urine are very low. Values above 25 µg albumin per ml urine are in important indicator of kidney disease in diabetics. If the glomerular filtration process is highly active, albumin excretion may be elevated without any kidney damage. Physical stress may also cause increased albumin secretion.
