Anti-Lysozyme is an ELISA test for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against lysozyme in human serum or plasma. This test for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) against lysozyme allows cases involving a positive immunofluorescence test for ANCA, but negative direct tests for proteinase 3 (PR3) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) antibodies to be cleared up quickly and reliably.

Lysozyme is a glucosidase localised in the specific granules of neutrophils. In indirect immunofluorescence tests, lysozyme antibodies give a typical pANCA pattern. Their detection indicates rheumatoid vasculitis or Sjögren’s syndrome; they may also occur in cases of SLE and ulcerative colitis.
