Anti-SS-A
Anti-SS-A is an ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro, test system for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against SS-A 60 and SS-A 52 in human serum or plasma.
This test is useful for the differential diagnosis and monitoring of systemic rheumatic inflammatory autoimmune diseases. SS-A 52 and SS-A 60 are proteins that bind to smaller RNAs and ribonucleoprotein particles in the cell nucleus and cytoplasm. They are thus a component of the human cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein complex and are extractable nuclear antigens (ENA). Autoantibodies against the two antigens SS-A 52 and SS-A 60 are predominantly found in cases of collagenosis, particularly Sjögren’s syndrome, and various forms of lupus erythematosus.
