Anti-Borrelia
The ORGENTEC Anti-Borrelia kits use different sets of recombinant proteins displaying highly specific immunodominant epitopes of the major human pathogenic Borrelia species. This makes it possible to detect antibodies against the primary causes of Lyme disease in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
The tailor-made antigen profiles cover all of the epitopes necessary for specific antibody recognition, avoiding cross-reactivity with other pathogens or commensal bacteria.
The determination of IgG and IgM antibodies plays an important role in chronic infections, especially Lyme arthritis and neuroborreliosis. In cases of Lyme arthritis, serum samples usually have very high IgG titres in the absence of IgM antibodies. The detection of intrathecal antibody production is proof of chronic neuroborreliosis.
Anti-Borrelia IgG
Alegria® Anti-Borrelia IgG is an ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro test system for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.) in human serum or plasma.
Anti-Borrelia IgG (ORG 911G) specifically detects IgG antibodies against VlsE (VMP-like sequence expression site), DbpA (decorin-binding protein A), OspC (outer surface protein C), and p83/p100 (chromosomally coded high-molecular weight Borrelia protein) of the three major human pathogenic Borrelia species, B. burgdorferi sensu stricto, B. afzelii and B. garinii.

Anti-Borrelia IgM Abs.
Alegria® Anti-Borrelia IgM with rheumatoid factor absorbent is an ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro test system for the quantitative determination of IgM antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.) in human serum or plasma.
Anti-Borrelia IgM Abs. (ORG 911MX) specifically detects IgM antibodies against VlsE (VMP-like sequence expression site), OspC (outer surface protein C), and Borrelia-specific p41i (inner flagellin fragment) of the three major human pathogenic Borrelia species, B. burgdorferi sensu stricto, B. afzelii and B. garinii.
The Anti-Borrelia IgM Abs. (ORG 911MX) test is equipped with the ORGENTEC rheumatoid factor absorbent. This reagent absorbs any rheumatoid factors that may be present during sample processing in the Alegria® instrument, making separate preparation of the serum sample unnecessary.
