Anti-Histone
Anti-Histone is an ELISA test for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against histone proteins in human serum or plasma.
Up to 80 % of patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and nearly 95 % of patients with drug-induced lupus (DIL) have autoantibodies against histone proteins in their antibody profile.
Histone antibodies are not specific to a particular disease. Aside from SLE and DIL, they also occur in patients with numerous other rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile chronic arthritis, and scleroderma.
