Anti-Mumps Virus
After infection with mumps virus, which can be clinically manifest or without symptoms, the natural human host generally develops life-long immunity that can be confirmed by the presence of IgG antibodies.
In most patients, IgM antibodies against mumps can be detected shortly after the onset of clinical symptoms, which can sometimes present over a period of several months. These can be detected with the ORGENTEC Anti-Mumps IgM assay.
Anti-Mumps Virus IgG

Anti-Mumps Virus IgM Abs.
Anti-Mumps Virus IgM is an ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro test system for the quantitative determination of IgM antibodies against mumps virus in human serum or plasma. It is used to detect an acute infection with the pathogen.
IgM-class rheumatoid factor antibodies can distort the results of pathogen-specific IgM antibody tests. The Anti-Mumps Virus IgM with rheumatoid factor absorbent (ORG 908MX) test is equipped with the ORGENTEC rheumatoid factor absorbent. This reagent absorbs any rheumatoid factors that may be present during sample processing in the Alegria® instrument, making separate preparation of the serum sample unnecessary.
