Anti-GBM
Anti-GBM is an ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro test system for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against components for the glomerular basement membrane (GBM) in human serum or plasma.
These antibodies attack the C-terminal end of the ?-3 chain of type IV collagen (NC1 ?-3 IV).
The detection of these autoantibodies is unequivocal serological evidence for the diagnosis of Goodpasture syndrome, an autoimmune disease of the kidneys.
