Anti-alpha-Fodrin IgG

Anti-alpha Fodrin IgG is and ELISA-based, automated, in-vitro test system for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies against alpha-fodrin in human serum or plasma.

Alpha-fodrin is an intracellular, actin-binding, organ-specific protein of the cytoskeleton. Antibodies against alpha-fodrin are specifically detected in serum samples from patients with primary or secondary Sjögren’s syndrome with sicca symptoms. They can be detected very early, sometimes before appearance of SS-A or SS-B antibodies, which are known as important diagnostic markers for Sjoegren's syndrome..
